Pathetic!
I made many errors. While the drain plug and oil filter came off effortlessly, I managed to drop both into a catch-pan containing four quarts of fairly hot oil! The filter... I mean my God, never in my life did I let a slick oil filter drop out of my hands. Made a hell of a splash too.
At least I feel I know if I cut those errors, I’ll get under 10 minutes next time!

I usually pull the drain plug and walk away for about 20 minutes. Even when warm a little bit will still drip out.

I've always heard you wanna let it drain for at least 20 minutes to let the slow moving oil make its way out

I always use the 20 minute rule.. maybe thats why you only got 4 qts out.. you were rushing..

Oh, mine take WAY longer. I hadn’t heard about this “20 min rule”, but I do take my dear sweet time. I always time my oil changes for when I get home after work, on a day when I don’t have anywhere else to go that night. After pulling the plug and filter, I let it drain for a whole hour.
While it drains, I grease the chassis and go find something else to do for a while. After about an hour has passed, I pour a little fresh oil in and quickly install the drain plug after confirming that it’s starting to run clear.

The Magnum is super easy and quick. The SL is much more of a process. 4 qts of oil. Must be nice. SL takes 11qts of the good stuff.

The Corolla could use a change. I can pay in beer.

What a coincidence — I work for beer!

I usually take 30+ minutes; I just wanted to see if I could crack 10 minutes if I tried.

That’s really tough, without working from a pit or something. Fun experiment, though.

Joking, like you didnt give it enough time to get the 5th qt out..

Oh. I had initially replied “it only has a 3.7 quart capacity” and then I was like, perhaps there is a joke I’m missing.

Random selection left over from camping:
2 Heniken, 4 Buds, 7 Coors in “cold cans”, a Curve Ball, a bottle of Malibu and a weird cider. I didn't purchase any of the above.

Would you do my transmission fluid? I can pay in root beer.

Yikes... Gee, something came up. I am so sorry.

Things I can actually do:
1) change oil
2) change bulbs
3) ???
4) lots of other stuff but only on a Toyota 3A-C engine.

The Malibu is disturbing.

It was, not as funny now that we’ve broken it down for each other, but still ok i think..

On the contrary; explaining jokes and not getting jokes just proves how progressive we are.

We are a forward thing group, with an eye towards culture and acceptance. An ear, open to new ideas, and eyes open to new sights. The love of the celica fill our hearts, and minds, and the never ending quest for affordable factory louvers motivates us to push forward into the unknown...

Louvers... maybe someday.

My DD ‘09 Accent could use a headlight alignment - I can pay in Canadibeer. Might take you awhile to get here though.

I usually intentionally dont rush mine. pull the plug and let it drain, then do another project so it can drain fully.

geez, it usually takes me that long just to get all set up to do an oil change LOL
It was different working at a shop though, 10-15 mins average with no lift.
brake jobs were about 15-30 mins with no lift per axle depending on the car.
